Terms of Service
Last updated 1 August 2026
1. Service description
Headergrade is a diagnostics tool that fetches a user-supplied URL and reports the HTTP security response headers it received. It operates on demand, per request, and stores no data. Use of the tool is free and does not require an account or registration.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Headergrade to probe URLs you do not have authorisation to test, to send excessive requests intended to disrupt the service, or to scrape, mirror or republish the tool's output at scale without prior agreement.
3. Billing — Pro subscription
Headergrade may offer a paid Pro subscription plan. The current price is $19 per month, billed monthly. A Pro subscription grants access to features such as batch URL checks, export functionality (JSON and CSV), and API access for automated checks. These features are in development and are not yet available for purchase.
Payment processing
Payments are processed through a third-party payment processor (Stripe). Headergrade does not store or process credit card details directly. You authorise the payment processor to charge your chosen payment method on the agreed billing date.
Subscription renewal and cancellation
Pro subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You may cancel at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain Pro access until then. No partial refunds are given for a partially used billing period.
Failed payments
If a recurring payment fails (e.g. card declined, expired), the payment processor will retry the charge automatically after 3 days and again after 7 days. During this grace period your Pro access continues. If all retries fail, the subscription is downgraded to Free at the end of the grace period. You will not be charged again until you resubscribe.
Refund policy
If you believe you were charged in error or are dissatisfied with the service, contact us within 14 days of the charge. Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis. Once a Pro feature set is available for purchase, this policy may be updated to reflect the scope of the delivered service.
4. No warranty
Headergrade is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The tool analyses HTTP headers as received from the target server and reports what it finds — it does not guarantee that a given header configuration is secure, compliant with any standard, or suitable for your use case.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operators of Headergrade shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including but not limited to reliance on analysis results or unavailability of the tool.
6. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of Headergrade after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
7. Contact
If you have questions about these terms, please raise an issue at the project repository. There is no dedicated support email address.
